Electric Vehicles – The Next Big Thing

The electric vehicle group has done great overall – thanks to a couple big out-performers. We haven’t played many of them at Leavitt Brothers, but the ones we’ve played have been very profitable for us.

The group is here to stay. Both China and the state of California are passing laws requiring a high percentage of vehicles be electric by 2035. Toss in trucks, scooters, delivery vans and smaller vehicles, which are much more appropriate for densely populated cities, there will be some massive winners, on top of the massive winners we already have.

Kandi Technologies Group, Inc. (KNDI), through its subsidiaries, designs, develops, manufactures, and commercializes electric vehicle (EV) products and parts and off-road vehicles in the People’s Republic of China and internationally. It offers off-road vehicles, including go-karts, all-terrain vehicles, utility vehicles, and other vehicles for sale to distributors or consumers; and EV parts comprising battery packs, EV drive motors, EV controllers, air conditioners, and other electric products, as well as electric scooters and electric self-balancing scooters. Li Auto Inc. (LI), through its subsidiaries, designs, develops, manufactures, and sells smart electric sport utility vehicles (SUVs) in China. NIO Limited (NIO) designs, manufactures, and sells electric vehicles in the People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Germany. The company offers five, six, and seven-seater electric SUVs. It is also involved in the provision of energy and service packages to its users; marketing, design, and technology development activities; manufacture of e-powertrains, battery packs, and components; and sales and after sales management activities. Niu Technologies (NIU) designs, manufactures, and sells smart electric-scooters in the People’s Republic of China. Nikola Corporation (NKLA) operates as an integrated zero emissions transportation systems provider.
