Happy Thursday.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: medium;\"> The <strong>Asian\/Pacific<\/strong> markets closed mostly down. Hong Kong dropped more than 1%; China, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand were also weak. <strong>Europe<\/strong> currently leans to the upside. Germany, France, Austria, the Netherlands, Denmark, Spain, Italy and the Czech Republic are up. Greece and Poland are down more than 1%; Norway and Portugal are also weak. Oil and copper are down. Gold and silver are down. Bonds are down. <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: medium;\"> The market got exactly what it expected yesterday. The reaction by the overall market was fairly normal &#8211; the indexes dropped but didn&#8217;t move in a way that would be considered out of the ordinary. <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: medium;\"> The dollar rallied hard and is following through in premarket action. <\/span><br \/>\n<img src=\"http:\/\/leavittbrothers.com\/blog\/i\/usd121516.png\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: medium;\"> Oil also got hit and is adding to its gains in premarket trading. <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: medium;\"> Gold and silver got crushed. Nothing to see there. I turned negative on the group back in September and haven&#8217;t really paid much attention since because it&#8217;s been trending down and is below its declining 50-day MA. Here&#8217;s GDX. <\/span><br \/>\n<img src=\"http:\/\/leavittbrothers.com\/pm2\/gdx121416.png\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: medium;\"> For almost two weeks some breadth indicators have been falling. I looked somewhat foolish last week when the indexes rallied anyways. Now it looks like a little correction will actually play out. Here&#8217;s the S&amp;P vs. the 10-day of the NYSE AD line. Advancers have beaten decliners by a smaller margin on this most recent leg up, and at no time over the last five weeks has the indicator climbed to levels seen during previous rallies. <\/span><br \/>\n<img src=\"http:\/\/leavittbrothers.com\/pm2\/nyad121416.png\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: medium;\"> Don&#8217;t be a hero out there. Let trades come to you. <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>Stock headlines<\/strong> from barchart.com&#8230;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: medium;\"> Chevron (CVX -1.24%) was upgraded to &#8216;Outperform&#8217; from &#8216;Neutral&#8217; at Macquarie Research with a 12-month target price of $130.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: medium;\"> Hilton Worldwide Holdings (HLT +1.14%) was upgraded to &#8216;Buy&#8217; from &#8216;Neutral&#8217; at Bank of America\/Merrill Lynch.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: medium;\"> Yahoo!
