Happy  Thursday.<br \/>\nThe Asian\/Pacific markets closed mostly up \u2013 China gained almost 5%.<br \/>\nEurope is up across the board \u2013 there are no standout winners.<br \/>\nFutures here in the States indicate a big gap up open that will put the market slightly above yesterday\u2019s high. &#8230;<!--more--><br \/>\nThe S&amp;P has fallen 4 consecutive days \u2013 this hasn\u2019t happened since mid May.<br \/>\nHere\u2019s that 60-min SPX chart. Higher highs and higher lows remain the pattern. The short term trend is down, but the intermediate term trend remains up.<br \/>\n<img src=\"http:\/\/leavittbrothers.com\/before-the-open\/images\/spx090309-1.png\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nBanks are doing worse than the overall market. This is not a good sign if you\u2019re hoping the market finds a bottom soon.<br \/>\n<img src=\"http:\/\/leavittbrothers.com\/before-the-open\/images\/bkx090309.png\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nHere\u2019s the 15-min chart.
