Good morning. Happy Wednesday.<\/span>
\nThe Asian\/Pacific markets closed mixed with an up bias. Japan gained over 2%. Europe is currently down across the board – losses are small. Futures here in the States point towards a small gap down open for the cash market, but this could easily change as there are several econ reports out before the open.<\/span>
\nYesterday was a very noncommittal day. Judging the intraday strength\/weakness by the number of stocks that closed near their intraday high or low reveals a lack of control by both the bulls and bears. Most stocks closed near the middle of their range.<\/span>
\nI’m seeing a lot of longer term index charts look like this…a range and current prices are at the top of the range.<\/span>

\nAnd I’m seeing many shorter term index charts look like this…a big gap up Monday followed by mostly range bound movement. Yesterday’s late-day sell-off broke a short term trendline.<\/span>
\n\"\"
\nMy bias remains to the upside, but given the extent of the move off the low and proximity to the top of the range, a little give back may be in order. More after the open.<\/span>
