Happy Thursday.<br \/>\nI\u2019ll repeat what I wrote yesterday after the close.<br \/>\nThe market continues to generate lots of noise.<br \/>\nThe bulls controlled Tuesday; the bears controlled Wednesday.<br \/>\nOn Tuesday, the market recaptured 4 days of losses with one felled swoop; on Wednesday, those gains were almost entirely given back.<br \/>\nBottom line is the market continues to consolidate and it continues to get virtually no follow through in either direction.<br \/>\nWhether you\u2019re bullish or bearish doesn\u2019t matter. If you\u2019re not on the right side of the market today, just wait a day or two.<br \/>\nI\u2019m still neutral. I\u2019m still keeping trades shorter term. I\u2019m still recognizing the normal forces of supply and demand are not at work because of the outsized role the government is playing and because of this, what logically should happen may not.<br \/>\nOn Tuesday I mentioned some of the internal breadth indicators I follow are breaking down. Here are several of them.<br \/>\nHere\u2019s the <b>Advancing \u2013 Declining Issues<\/b> at the NYSE, Nasdaq and Amex. Each have broken down from consolidation periods.<br \/>\n<img src=\"http:\/\/leavittbrothers.com\/stocks-options-futures-trading-before-the-open\/images\/ad052809.png\"><br \/>\nHere\u2019s the <b>Advancing \u2013 Declining Volume<\/b> at the NYSE and Nasdaq. Each have broken down from consolidation periods.<br \/>\n<img src=\"http:\/\/leavittbrothers.com\/stocks-options-futures-trading-before-the-open\/images\/advol052809.png\"><br \/>\nThe 31-period <b>TICK<\/b> on the 60-min chart has been trending down (a lower high and lower low is in place).<br \/>\n<img src=\"http:\/\/leavittbrothers.com\/stocks-options-futures-trading-before-the-open\/images\/tick052809.png\"><br \/>\nThe <b>small caps<\/b> are under performing the <b>large caps<\/b>. This is a sign of internal weakness and usually accompanies weakness.<br \/>\n<img src=\"http:\/\/leavittbrothers.com\/stocks-options-futures-trading-before-the-open\/images\/smloex052809.png\"><br \/>\nThe <b>VIX<\/b> suggests complacency \u2013 a lack of fear.
