Good morning. Happy Monday. Hope you had a good weekend.
The Asian/Pacific markets closed mixed. China surged 4%; Hong Kong and the Philippines also did well. India, New Zealand, Australia and Malaysia were weak. Europe, Africa and the Middle East currently lean to the upside. The UK, Germany, Russia, Greece, South Africa, Kenya, Israel and Austria are up; Norway and Hungary are down. Futures in the States point towards a moderate gap up open for the cash market.

The dollar is up. Oil is down; copper is up. Gold and silver are mixed and little changed. Bonds are up.

  1. semiconductor stocks (SMH or SOX) are testing major support that held for a year. looking at the chart makes me dizzy. if it breaks, watch out. interesting how semis led the market lower again.
