There’s lots of conflicting stuff out there, so I thought it was time to circle the wagons and get a sense of the positives and negatives. I don’t have all the answers, but this will at least give you an idea as to what I’m looking at.

100% IN CASH. LOST 70% OF SINCE 1/09. I GIVE UP. READ ALL THE TRADING BOOKS WHICH DO NOTHING BUT CONFUSE YOU. I GUESS IF YOU WANT TO SPEND THE REST OF YOUR LIFE GLUED TO A COMPUTER SCREEN YOU MIGHT HAVE A CHANCE OF MAKING MONEY. ANYONE CAN RECOMMEND 50 STOCKS AND SOME OF THEM WILL GO UP. WHATS THE POINT OF THIS VIDEO. THE MARKET MAY GO UP OR DOWN? WHY EVEN WASTE THE TIME MAKING IT?
HAVE HAD A NUMBER OF SERVICES AND KEEPING TRACK OF 20 STOCKS AND BUY THIS STOCK IF IT BREAKS OUT MAY WORK FOR SOME FOLKS BUT MOST LIKELY THE REGULAR GUY IS GOING TO MISS THE BREAKOUT.
RM…I’m not sure what the point is here. I haven’t written a trading book and I didn’t offer any stock picks in this video. It’s just my 2 cents on some of the conflicting data I see.
Jason
Jason, thanks for the great videos and site. I just wanted to ask you how long you’ve been trading for and where you got your experience from. Did you go to school or learn completely on your own? Is there anything you would recommend to a trader who’s finally getting the hang of things?
Jason, thanks for the overview and your take on the situation … very informative.
Frank
Thank you for giving us your views on where we are now. This is useful to me as I can’t call a direction either. You keep it simple and get right into it. If this presentation were done by Schwab it would take half and hour and I would have turned it off. You have a point to make, make it and you’re done. Perfect
THAT WAS GOOGLE “PAUL B FARRELL” ON MarketWatch.com
RM…. I can see your point and I hope you check back to see responses to your comment. I’ve got a suggestion for you. BUY INDEX ETFs. Google / Paul B. Farrell / on MarketWatch.com and see what “Lazy Portfolios” have done. It doesn’t require being glued to a computer. A mix of US and Foreign is best. There are many ways to split up your funds but have at least 4 areas. Some funds to consider –
VTI (US Total Mkt);
VEU (All World Ex-US);
AGG (Bond);
VNQ (REIT)
I kind of agree that Markets / Technical Analysis sites should also include information on this style of PARTICIPATING in the market along with STOCK PICKS & entries / exits.
But Jason’s “State of the Mkt” video probably should indicate to you that CAUTION is warranted here and now. But you must define your style and be disciplined about it.
