Before the Open (Jan 23)

Good morning. Happy Thursday. The Asian/Pacific markets closed mostly down. Australia, Hong Kong, South Korea and Singapore dropped more than 1%. Europe is currently mixed. Greece is down 1.5%, Austria 0.6% and Norway 0.5%. Futures here in the States point towards a moderate gap down open for the cash market.

Good morning. Happy Wednesday. The Asian/Pacific markets closed mostly up. China rallied 2.2%; Indonesia and New Zealand also did relatively well. Europe currently leans to the downside. Belgium, Italy, Spain and Switzerland are down the most. Futures here in the States point towards a down open for the cash market.

Gains are not big, but they’re across-the-board. Futures here in the States point towards an up open for the cash market.
